With Don Gino Chaka Runa
March 18, 2027
Our 10-day Master Plant Dieta takes place near Shamboyacu in the Peruvian Amazon. Maestro Don Gino Chaka Runa introduces you to the Master Plants and helps you choose a plant or blend for your daily tea. Five Ayahuasca ceremonies accompany this work, guided by Don Gino in the Mestizo tradition.
**The Dieta and its ceremonies**
Each day, you drink one litre of your chosen Master Plant tea, eat simple Dieta meals and have time to yourself. On a guided plant walk, you can see Ayahuasca, Chacruna and Chagropanga growing in our garden. On a separate day, you can join the team in preparing the ceremonial brew.
The Dieta opens with an individual floral bath. On ceremony nights, we gather in the maloca, our round ceremonial house. Don Gino sings Icaros, traditional ceremonial songs, in Shipibo, Quechua and Spanish. The program also includes a personal Arkana, a traditional protection ritual. After each ceremony, we meet in a sharing circle where you can speak about your experience or listen to others.
**Your stay in the rainforest**
You stay in a private tambo, a wooden forest cabin, or a furnished glamping tent. Both have a private bathroom. The retreat center sits within 44 hectares of rainforest, with three creeks and ten waterfalls. Between ceremonies, you can follow the forest trails, swim in the pools beneath several of the falls or spend a quiet afternoon on your porch.
**Guidance and support**
We conduct the program in English. Don Gino also speaks Spanish and Italian, so you can ask him questions directly. Before you arrive, our team reviews your health questionnaire and helps you prepare. During the Dieta, experienced assistants are present at each ceremony, and a doctor is on site at the retreat center.
